Hyden Humps

29th and 30th September

ABOUT THE EVENT

ARB - Alpha Earthmoving Hyden Humps 2012

The venue for the Hyden Humps is “Smithy’s Place”, Hyden, Western Australia, approximately 340km south east of Perth and is hosted by the Western Desert Racers.

With the shifting of the long weekend for CHOGM till three weeks later, the traditional September Hyden Humps is on a normal weekend. In an effort to get the race done and dusted in the day and give people time to relax and  not rush the trip home on Sunday we have taken on a new enduro format for 2011.  The event gets underway with the usual reconnaissance and prologue but takes a different turn for the sections.  There is to be only one section starting at 2pm on Saturday and finishing 6 hours later.  It will be a test of car preparation and driver stamina.  Competitors will be required to take fixed time fuel stops to ensure they are done in a controlled environment.  This will result in competitors being on track for 5 hours.  Dusk is at approximately 7pm at that time of year so as the last hour will be in the dark we have allowed an additional pit stop for the fitment of lighting. This is a great opportunity for competitors to get there crew involved in the race, you could even change over a navigator for a few laps!
